Abstract

The research analyzed the influence of soybean cultivation on employment and income generation in the municipality of Figueirópolis-TO, between August and November 2025. This is a quantitative and descriptive study, applied to rural producers, agricultural workers, merchants, and professionals in services and support sectors. The structured questionnaire addressed profile, employment, income, and social impacts of soybean production. The results indicated a widely positive perception of the role of soy in strengthening the municipal economy, highlighting the creation of direct and indirect jobs and the increase in family income. However, inequality in the distribution of earnings and concern about environmental impacts were observed. It is concluded that agribusiness is a driver of development, but requires sustainable strategies.
