This article aimed to describe the role of nurses in addressing dengue, highlighting their responsibilities in clinical care, prevention, and health surveillance. Methodology: This is a descriptive, qualitative study conducted through an integrative literature review. Results and discussion: Evidence indicates that the nurse’s performance, combined with professional training, health education, and service organization, is crucial for reducing morbidity and mortality. Nurses play a key role in the early identification of clinical signs, risk classification, patient monitoring, and the implementation of educational strategies aimed at eliminating breeding sites and strengthening community engagement. The literature also emphasizes the importance of intersectoral collaboration and epidemiological surveillance to build more effective and integrated responses in disease control. Conclusion: The effectiveness of dengue management actions depends on qualified nursing practice, in which nurses possess not only technical skills but also communication abilities and the capacity to establish trust with the population. Challenges such as low adherence to preventive measures, continuous vector circulation, and structural limitations reinforce the need to strengthen health policies that value and expand the role of nursing.
