his article aimed to analyze the care provided by the nursing team to cancer patients and to highlight the importance of qualified care provided by professionals to cancer patients during the diagnosis, treatment, and palliative care phases, contributing to a good prognosis. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review that was carried out through the selection of scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025 indexed in the databases of the Scientific Electronic Library (SCIELO), Nursing Database (BDENF), and Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS). The articles were chosen using the descriptors: "oncology nursing", "nursing care", "cancer", "cancer diagnosis", "oncological treatment", and "palliative care". Results: It is evident that cancer patients face challenges during the onset of symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment phases due to delays and barriers imposed by the public health system itself, which offers treatment in specific locations within the country, in addition to the challenges brought about by the disease itself. Therefore, it is highlighted that the qualified attention of all healthcare professionals involved, such as the nursing team present during the diagnosis and treatment phases, is of great importance, as they contribute to the most humane care possible, bringing comfort and security to those dealing with a disease that affects many aspects of their lives, including physical, mental, and emotional well-being, self-esteem, and others.
