This article aims to analyze the challenges and opportunities of female entrepreneurship in the state of Bahia, emphasizing its socioeconomic dimension and transformative potential. The research, qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive in nature, was conducted through a systematic literature review, allowing for an in-depth examination of specialized literature. The results reveal a scenario marked by contrasts: on one hand, female entrepreneurs face structural obstacles such as the double work shift, limited access to credit, and still incipient public policies (SEBRAE, 2013), exacerbated by the state's regional disparities (Cambota, 2015). On the other hand, robust opportunities are identified, anchored in creativity, the valorization of local production, and the strengthening of support networks, with emphasis on sectors such as clothing in municipalities like Ilhéus. It is concluded that, despite the barriers, female entrepreneurship in Bahia is establishing itself as a fundamental vector for emancipation and regional development, whose full potential depends on the implementation of more effective public policies and the continuous stimulation of an inclusive and collaborative business ecosystem.
