In this sense, it is understood that the aging process requires special care, which includes attention to the physical, psychological and social dimension in an integrated manner. Studies showed that other factors that predispose the institutionalization of the elderly were the absence of a spouse, no children, present cognitive impairment and dependence on basic activities. of daily living (LINI; PORTELLA; DORING, 2016). suggests that a program should be resized that privileges the maintenance of the elderly population in their own homes, evidently considering their biopsychic conditions.
