This article aims to analyze the psychological aspects involved in the recovery process from injuries in high-performance athletes. It is an integrative literature review carried out in the BVS, LILACS, and SciELO databases, including articles published between 2015 and 2025. Results showed that factors such as anxiety, stress, depression, fear of re-injury, and insecurity directly influence rehabilitation and return to sport. The findings reinforce the importance of a multidisciplinary approach, where physiotherapy and psychological support work together to promote full and safe recovery. It is concluded that psychological aspects must be considered an essential part of the physiotherapeutic treatment of injured athletes.
