This study investigated, from the perspective of married women, which factors contribute to the maintenance and strengthening of marital relationships after the arrival of children. The research is based on the understanding that the transition to parenthood implies significant changes in the dynamics of the couple, demanding a reorganization of roles, functions, and expectations. Systemic Psychology is adopted as a perspective, referencing the family life cycle and the transformations that occur at this stage, considering that the balance between the roles of spouse and parent is essential for marital and family health. The target population of this research consisted of women married civilly, religiously, or in a stable union, with children up to 10 years of age, residing in Brazil. The interview was conducted with seven women, selected to ensure diversity of experience. Online interviews were conducted via Google Meet, recorded with the consent of the participants, and conducted using a semi-structured script. Data analysis was performed using content analysis techniques, seeking to identify thematic categories related to the construction of conjugality, changes after the birth of children, and strategies used to cope with overlapping roles. The results indicate that communication between the couple, cooperation in tasks, and family routine are essential factors for strengthening the bond and maintaining conjugality after the arrival of children. It is concluded that a balance between parental and conjugal roles fosters healthier relationships, providing support for practices and interventions by professionals working with couples and families.
