Introduction: Alcoholism is a significant public health issue, characterized by abusive and continuous alcohol consumption, leading to physical and psychological dependence and major social impacts. Its effects compromise multiple body systems, such as the nervous, hepatic, cardiovascular, and metabolic, while also impairing cognition and quality of life. General Objective: To analyze the consequences of alcoholism on human health, highlighting physical, mental, and social impacts, and to discuss pharmaceutical approaches in integrated patient care. Methodology: This study was carried out through an integrative literature review, with a qualitative and descriptive approach. Databases such as SciELO, PubMed, LILACS, and Google Scholar were consulted, covering the period from 2018 to 2025, including articles, dissertations, theses, and official guidelines. Results/Conclusion: Findings reveal that chronic alcohol consumption is linked to severe conditions such as liver cirrhosis, psychiatric disorders, cardiovascular alterations, and nutritional deficits. The study also highlights the pharmacist’s role in pharmacotherapeutic follow-up, prevention of drug interactions, health education, and contribution to preventive public policies. Therefore, strengthening multiprofessional care, with emphasis on pharmaceutical assistance, is essential to reduce complications and promote the social reintegration of alcoholic patients.
