Abstract

This article aims to examine, from a scientific and formal perspective, the role played by startups in strengthening the contemporary Brazilian economy. The research is based on a systematic literature review of publications available in the SciELO database, covering the period between 2010 and 2024. It seeks to understand the contributions of these companies to innovation, job and income generation, and the expansion of domestic market competitiveness, as well as discussing the structural and institutional challenges that still limit their growth potential.
