COMMUNITY POLICE: ADOPTING STRATEGIES TO OPERATIONALIZE THEORETICAL FORECASTS

Abstract

This work aims to focus on the philosophy of community policing, a dynamic that has become the basis for the performance of the military police throughout Brazil in the last 20 years. This philosophy, which is based on the idea of ​​bringing together members of a specific community and members of police institutions, aims to strengthen the exercise of public security activities through crime prevention and enforcement according to local needs. The great discussion revolves around the applicability of theoretical predictions. In this way, it is intended to demonstrate real situations of use of community policing in order to demonstrate the gain resulting from the partnership between police and community. This work is classified as basic research, of an exploratory nature, having the bibliographic research as a technical procedure.
