This article discusses the actions of the Military Police of the State of Paraná as a result of Law No. 22.144/2024, which established the Legal Vehicle Program, which allows for the immediate settlement of license and IPVA (vehicle tax) debts during police stops. The study addresses the constitutional understanding that public safety is intertwined with road safety and highlights the importance of the Military Police officer as a traffic officer, emphasizing that their work has significant impacts on the State of Paraná and its population. The main point evaluated emphasizes the administrative measure of removal, which will not be applied in the event of settlement of existing debts. It is established that the new law seeks to reduce the costs generated by removal, as well as provide efficient inspection and law enforcement. Technical training for military police officers who work as traffic officers is essential for efficient inspection and compliance with legal provisions.
