The research investigates the main obstacles faced in this process, based on the following problem: what are the main challenges in the production and validation of evidence in sexual crimes committed against vulnerable individuals? The general objective was to analyze these challenges, and the specific ones included the global historical context, the evolution of the Brazilian legal system, the main means of evidence in sexual crimes, as well as the importance of the victim's word in cases of sexual crimes that leave no trace. The methodology adopted was qualitative, based on bibliographic and documentary research, and a territorial focus in Brazil and in the municipality of Prado-BA. The results identified difficulties in collecting evidence, lack of technical training of professionals and revictimization of victims.
