Abstract

The increase in demand for electricity, associated with energy efficiency and sustainability issues in the 21st century, highlights the need for conscious consumption and accurate monitoring of energy consumption, driving the development of residential electricity consumption meters. This work proposes a low-cost prototype of a portable energy meter, capable of monitoring the individual consumption of each device, aiming at a more efficient and conscious use of energy. The results obtained with the prototype demonstrated a satisfactory level of agreement with the reference values, with a percentage error of less than 0.5%, evidencing the accuracy and reliability of the device for domestic residential use.
