SPORT AS AN INCLUSIVE POLICY FOR MILITARY POLICE OFFICERS WITH DISABILITIES RESULTING FROM ACCIDENTS OR INJURIES ON DUTY

Given the need for military police officers who suffer permanent after-effects from accidents or injuries while on duty to continue to be useful to society and the force itself, sports emerge as an important tool for improving self-esteem, as well as mental and physical health, and can significantly contribute to the return of these officers to their professional careers. With this inspiration, this article presents an analysis of the existing legislation on the subject, also bringing the experience of other police forces, other Military Police Forces in Brazil and what is being done in the Military Police of Paraná (PMPR). The research is based on the inductive method, using the technique of analysis of bibliographic material and scientific articles, seeking to understand how sports practice can serve as a tool for the rehabilitation and reintegration of these professionals. The research also presents initiatives that can support the implementation of legislation in order to regulate the activities of adaptation of these professionals to their new reality.
