This review study is of great importance for understanding the benefits of the nurse's role in prenatal care within Primary Health Care (PHC), and for identifying the positive impacts of this professional's work in the prevention and promotion of early diagnosis and treatment of conditions that may affect the mother-baby dyad during pregnancy. This is a bibliographic review study, carried out through the virtual databases Google Scholar, Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), and Acervo + Idex Base, with data collection conducted in March 2025. A total of 21 articles were selected from the aforementioned databases, of which 6 were excluded based on the publication year criterion. After a full reading of the remaining articles, 8 were selected to compose the final sample. In the context of prenatal care, the nursing care management performed by nurses has specific characteristics, such as providing comprehensive care to pregnant women and their families, welcoming them into health centers/basic health units, during prenatal consultations, and throughout the entire prenatal follow-up. The professional-user bond proves to be essential in increasing pregnant women's trust and promoting the continuity of maternal-fetal care. This study highlights the importance of nurse-led prenatal care and how this monitoring positively impacts pregnancy through integrated care and the establishment of a trust-based relationship between the professional and the patient. Contributions to nursing practice: The study contributes to strengthening the nurse's autonomy in prenatal care for pregnant women, in addition to valuing the ability to provide comprehensive and humanized care.
