This article analyzes the challenges of public administration in Tefé-AM, located in the Amazon region, focusing on structural, budgetary, and operational limitations that affect local management. Based on a bibliographic review and analysis of official documents, the study seeks to understand how the municipal government organizes its actions in the face of scarce resources, lack of qualified personnel, and weak mechanisms of participation and transparency. The results show strong dependence on external transfers, lack of strategic planning, and low technical qualification. However, there are potentials, such as municipal councils, community radios, and emerging institutional partnerships that can be strengthened. The study concludes that investment in planning, continuous training, administrative modernization, and citizen participation is essential for more efficient and democratic public management. It contributes to the debate on local governance in the Amazon, emphasizing the need for management adapted to regional realities.
