This article examines the interrelationship between the right to an ecologically balanced environment and the right to health associated with basic sanitation in the city of Manaus/AM. The analysis reveals that the lack of sewage and solid waste infrastructure directly affects public health and the environment, highlighting the importance of environmental protection and health promotion as fundamental rights. Based on the relevant legislation, including the National Environmental Policy Law, the Federal Constitution of 1988 (art. 225, § 3), Law No. 9,605/98 (Environmental Crimes Law) and Law No. 12,305/10 (National Solid Waste Policy), the study demonstrates that deficiencies in basic sanitation compromise the quality of life and health of the population. Therefore, it is necessary to implement public policies and coordinated actions to ensure universal access to basic sanitation and protect the environment. Ultimately, the study seeks to contribute to the discussion on the interconnection between law, environment and health, highlighting the importance of an integrated approach to promote sustainability and public health in Manaus/AM.
