The paper addresses the failure of third parties to act in the face of violence against women. The general objective of the paper is to analyze the failure of third parties to act in the face of violence against women, identifying how this inaction contributes to the perpetuation of violence and the worsening of the suffering of victims. And the specific objectives: to contextualize violence against women, highlighting its causes, manifestations and social, emotional and legal impacts; to describe the concept and implications of the failure of third parties to act in the face of violence against women, addressing its consequences in the perpetuation of violence and the worsening of the suffering of victims; and to present and analyze the main laws that protect women against violence and failure to act, with emphasisThe importance of the topic arises from the urgent need to address violence against women broadly and effectively, recognizing that the failure of third parties not only facilitates the continuation of aggressions, but also weakens existing protection policies. A qualitative research was conducted, using a bibliographic review research method that analyzes violence against women and the failure of third parties. Articles from the last ten years available in the Scielo and Google Scholar databases were used. The results of the research indicate that the omission of third parties in the face of violence against women is a determining factor in perpetuating the cycle of aggression. This omission, often naturalized and made invisible, reveals a weakness not only in the fulfillment of legal duties, but also in the social and ethical commitment to protecting victims. The lack of reporting or intervention, even when the situation is known, creates a scenario of connivance and silence that favors the continuation of violence.
