This article analyzes the intersection between public policies of awareness and inspection to reduce traffic accidents in the city of Curitiba, focusing on the joint actions of the Traffic Police Battalion (BPTran) of the Paraná Military Police (PMPR) and the Traffic Superintendence (Setran) of the Municipal Secretariat of Social Defense and Traffic of Curitiba (SMDT). The research adopts a qualitative and quantitative approach, based on the analysis of statistical data, institutional reports and bibliographic review. The results indicate that the integration between educational and inspection actions directly contributes to the reduction of accident rates, injuries and fatalities in traffic. The study also identifies the main infractions committed and the strategies adopted to mitigate them. It is concluded that the combination of rigorous inspection, technology and awareness campaigns plays a fundamental role in road safety.
