Femicide is one of the most extreme and alarming forms of gender-based violence in Brazil, representing not only a violation of the right to life but also the perpetuation of structural inequalities that place women in vulnerable situations. In the state of Rondônia, femicide rates remain high even after the enactment of Law No. 13,104/2015, which formally classified the crime. Given this context, the following research problem arises: what factors contribute to the persistence of femicide in the state of Rondônia, and how have public policies and the women's protection network acted to confront this reality? Thus, this study aims to analyze the evolution of femicide cases in Rondônia from 2015 to 2024, investigating the factors that contribute to its persistence and assessing the effectiveness of public policies and the protection network for women in addressing this crime. The specific objectives are to examine the effectiveness of public policies and the actions of the women's protection network in the state of Rondônia, identifying patterns, trends, and the main associated risk factors; to evaluate the performance of the women's protection network, including the effectiveness of Specialized Police Stations, the Brazilian Women's Houses, and the enforcement of protective measures; and to investigate the impact of public policies and awareness campaigns in combating femicide in Rondônia, analyzing their challenges and possibilities for improvement. The research adopts a qualitative, exploratory, and bibliographic approach, with document analysis based on legislation, official reports, and scientific studies such as articles, theses, and dissertations.
