Urinary incontinence (UI) is a common dysfunction among pregnant women, caused by hormonal, mechanical and postural changes that occur throughout pregnancy. This study aimed to analyze the importance of physiotherapy in preventing UI during pregnancy, focusing on pelvic floor strengthening exercises. An integrative review of the literature was carried out in recognized scientific databases, selecting studies published between 2014 and 2025. The results show that physiotherapeutic interventions, such as Kegel exercises and postural reeducation techniques, are effective in preventing UI, in addition to promoting an improvement in the quality of life of pregnant women. It is concluded that obstetric physiotherapy is a safe and efficient strategy to minimize the physical and emotional impacts of UI during pregnancy and postpartum.
