This project, entitled “Sipping the Living Roots of the Serra Catarinense”, has at its core an interdisciplinary approach aimed at reflecting on the historical, social and cultural processes of the Serra Catarinense. This region involves eighteen municipalities, ranging from Anita Garibaldi to Bom Jardim da Serra. It proposes to connect the disciplines of Arts, Biology, Geography, English, Portuguese and Mathematics. A work built by many hands and based on the exercise of revisiting the culture of the Serra Catarinense, focusing on promoting knowledge on the subject aimed at high school students at the Vidal Ramos Júnior Basic Education School. Through theoretical and practical activities, students will be guided to explore the region's biodiversity, culture, population, economy, food, legends, customs, and the material and immaterial heritage pertinent to the Serrana region. It is believed that the present project develop environmental awareness in students, stimulate creativity, sustainability, build interdisciplinary skills, which will further value their local heritage, make them active agents and strengthen their recognition as a collective being.
