Abstract

The Anti-Crime Package introduced significant changes to the Brazilian criminal procedural system. Among them is the implementation of the chain of custody system, which aims to ensure the integrity and proper evaluation of evidence admissible under the Brazilian legal system, with emphasis on digital evidence, which is becoming increasingly common in criminal proceedings. In this context, it is essential to fully comply with the chain of custody procedures to guarantee effective evidentiary reliability.
