Breast cancer is considered a public health problem, affecting both developed and developing countries (Oliveira; Senna, 2019). It is a neoplasm that develops in breast tissue, when accelerated growth of cells with irregular characteristics occurs, which can cause mutations in the mammary lobe, milk-producing cells or ducts. Early screening for breast cancer is extremely necessary, since the faster the analysis is performed, the greater the likelihood of a cure. There are studies to analyze the effectiveness of various imaging diagnostic technologies for breast cancer screening (Fialho et al., 2018). However, mammography is considered the gold standard exam, since it is the effective method of early diagnosis in breast cancer screening. After receiving the diagnosis, the individual goes through a series of emotions, fears and situations that change their entire routine and quality of life. Humanized care is entirely linked to the recovery of respect for human life, raising a reflection on the principles and values that guide professional practice, including dignified, supportive and welcoming care. The study presented is a bibliographic research, with a qualitative approach, carried out through the PubMed, Scielo and Lilacs databases. The study is justified by showing how humanitarian oncological support helps in the detection of breast cancer in patients undergoing mammography examination. Through the data, it was important to highlight the relevance of the support itself through professionals who perform the procedure. Therefore, the implementation of precise radiological techniques and humanized practices are essential to ensure effective care. And it is considered that the relevance and need for more research related to the topic addressed, considering the diverse complexity of the proposed theme
