This integrative review article aims to analyze the existing literature on ethical principles applied to forensic dentistry and the guidelines that guide professional practice in forensic contexts. Through a careful selection of published studies, the main findings, methodologies, and trends in the field were explored, with emphasis on the ethical dilemmas faced by forensic dentists, professional conduct in complex situations, and the regulations governing practice. The results show that, although there are guidelines intended to ensure impartiality, confidentiality, and respect for human dignity, there are still significant challenges in their practical application. In light of this, the need to strengthen ethical training in forensic dentistry education is highlighted, preparing professionals to deal with the technical and moral demands involved in investigations. It is concluded that ethical conduct is essential for a fairer, more responsible forensic practice aligned with legal principles.
