Introduction: During pregnancy, a woman experiences a series of transformations. In the endocrine system, the presence of the fetus triggers the release of hormones that result in the gradual increase of uterine and abdominal volume. This weight gain in the abdominal region puts a strain on the pelvic floor. Objective: The objective of this article is to analyze and review the scientific literature on the importance of pelvic floor physiotherapy during pregnancy, highlighting its benefits for the health of the pregnant woman and the process of vaginal and cesarean delivery. Materials and Methods: This is an integrative literature review, with a search conducted in the following databases: SCIELO, Google Scholar, LILACS, and BVS, using the descriptors “Pelvic physiotherapy,” “pregnancy,” “women's health,” and “vaginal and cesarean delivery” along with the Boolean operators “AND” and “OR” between the descriptors to screen the articles. Results: The bibliographic review conducted allowed for an analysis of the importance of pelvic floor physiotherapy during pregnancy, gathering information from 16 studies published between 2018 and 2025.
