HE ROLE OF PELVIC PHYSICAL THERAPY IN THE REHABILITATION OF WOMEN WITH DYSPAREUNIA

Introduction: Dyspareunia is a sexual disorder that causes genital pain associated with penetration, interfering with quality of life and interpersonal relationships, especially for women. Objective: This research aimed to assess the number of sexually active women who have experienced or currently experience dyspareunia and to understand how pelvic physical therapy can help. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted using virtual questionnaires. Data collection was carried out through the Google Forms application. A virtual questionnaire composed of 24 questions was developed to collect the data of interest. Results: From the data collected, it was found that, of the 78 sexually active women who responded to the questionnaire, 62% had never been diagnosed with dyspareunia but reported feeling pain during sexual intercourse. Another 31% were unaware of the existence of dyspareunia, 4% reported not feeling pain during intercourse, and 2% had previously received a diagnosis of dyspareunia. As a result, 3 participants were excluded from the study. Conclusion: In this section, the author should briefly answer the objective of the study.
