Abstract

This article aims to make an integrative review of Brazilian developmentalism and the historical role of the State as an agent to confront underdevelopment in Brazil based on articles that point out postulates brought by theories and the main authors of developmentalism to overcome social inequalities. Thus, the selection of the 6 articles used for this review was made through the literature of the title, abstract and full articles found between the years 2021 to 2024 on the subject. The conclusion is about the relevance of the State in Developmentalism and the need to leave the liberal and capitalist ties that only target the market in favor of a developmental State that has a vision focused on growth accompanied by income distribution to reduce social asymmetries.
