This article aimed to perform a comparative analysis of visual acuity before and after treatment with anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) in patients with diabetic retinopathy. The treatment was carried out in a private institution in western Paraná, from January 2018 to December 2023. Data were collected from medical records provided by the institution, covering a diverse age range and including all races and sexes. The results indicate that anti-VEGF treatment significantly improves visual acuity, achieving near-normal vision in the long term. Therefore, anti-VEGF therapy is identified as a promising approach to restore visual acuity and improve quality of life in patients with diabetic retinopathy.
