This article aims to discuss a rare case of sporotrichosis in dogs. Sporotrichosis is a fungal infection caused by fungi of the genus Sporothrix, whose etiological agent is Sporothrix schenckii, which is distributed worldwide, as it can be found in natural environments, such as: soil, straw, vegetables, thorns and wood, more common in felines. This report seeks to describe a case of cutaneous sporotrichosis that occurred in a female canine, of unknown age, of no defined breed, which was stray when the pathology occurred. The patient had disseminated lesions in the craniofrontal, dorsal and ventral regions, progressing to both nostrils, which made it difficult for her to breathe. The diagnosis was made through biopsy, which after PAS (periodic acid-Schiff) staining, showed rare yeast-like fungal agents, diagnosing the general morphological picture of nodular to diffuse dermatitis with formation of pyogranulomas associated with the presence of rare yeast-like fungi, corresponding to Sporotrichosis. Treatment was performed with itraconazole, cephalexin and application of collagenase ointment with chloramphenicol. The patient recovered completely from the mycosis, without physiological sequelae, remaining only with scars in the snout region.
