Environmental civil liability for damages is an increasingly relevant topic in law, reflecting the need to protect the environment and ensure the repair of damage caused by human activities. This work aims to analyze the application of objective civil liability and the theory of strict liability, as provided in Law No. 6.938/91, and its implications for environmental protection in Brazil. The research is of a bibliographic nature and classified according to its objectives, using scientific and legal documents that address environmental civil liability. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were established to ensure the quality of the sources, prioritizing recent publications with a high impact factor. The expected results include a deeper understanding of the effectiveness of environmental legislation and raising awareness about the importance of joint liability among polluters. It is expected that this research will contribute to a better understanding of the role of legislation in environmental protection and damage repair, providing insights for future discussions and legal actions in this field.
