This article aims to review the use of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in the treatment of Barrett's esophagus (BE), focusing on its efficacy, safety, and the challenges involved. The research explores the success rates of radiofrequency ablation in eradicating the metaplastic epithelium and analyzes the recurrence of the condition after treatment. Additionally, it discusses the importance of continuous surveillance and long-term follow-up, considering variables that may influence outcomes, such as patient response and the need for complementary treatments in refractory cases. The article also addresses the economic aspects of RFA, highlighting the feasibility of this technique in different healthcare settings. Despite advancements, there are still gaps in knowledge regarding the durability of RFA results, emphasizing the need for further in-depth studies. The ultimate goal is to provide a solid foundation for the treatment and management of BE, ensuring better outcomes for patients.
