This study aimed to analyze the role of nurses in the prevention and control of cervical cancer (CC), identifying their main actions and strategies. This is a bibliographic research, based on the analysis of data extracted from scientific articles available in the Virtual Health Library, published between 2015 and March 2025. The selection and analysis followed the PRISMA protocol. Initially, 48 studies were identified, of which 5 met the inclusion criteria and formed the basis of the discussion. The results demonstrate that nurses play a fundamental role in performing the Pap smear test, in health education, in encouraging vaccination against HPV and in strengthening the bond with the patient. The work of nursing professionals, especially in Primary Care, is essential for early screening and reducing mortality from CC. It is concluded that, although the work of nurses already contributes significantly to the prevention of CC, their performance can be improved with continuous training, expanded access to health services and strengthening interprofessional work. Such measures are crucial for more effective, humanized, and comprehensive assistance to women's health.
