This study will briefly address the resocialization of prisoners in Amazonas, taking into account the Working for Freedom program, considering the perspectives and challenges of this social project, given the precarious conditions of individuals who are in prisons in the State. The general objective of the work: To analyze the resocialization of prisoners in the prison system of Amazonas, taking into account the challenges and perspectives of the Working for Freedom program and specific - To show the challenges and perspectives of the resocialization of prisoners in Amazonas within the Working for Freedom program; To verify the professional activities within the prison system in Amazonas considering the challenges and perspectives of the Working for Freedom program. The methodology of the study was: qualitative, explanatory, descriptive, documentary and bibliographic, considering that the research of the work was elaborated through: websites, books, magazines, theses and dissertations, within the field of Criminal Law. Therefore, the study aims to show the reality of the prison system in Amazonas, with the remission of convicts being the main objective of the program working towards freedom. With the advent of the Penal Execution Law of 1984, the institute of sentence remission was introduced into our legal system, which primarily provided legal provision for remission only through work.
