The cultural landscape of Igoronhon Island, located in the easternmost part of the Parnaíba River Delta, is a testament to the interaction between humans and the environment throughout the 20th century, in the context of salt production and port activities that shaped this period. This article aims to analyze the concepts of cultural landscape and their application to Igoronhon Island, categorizing it as a relict evolutionary landscape, due to the persistence of physical vestiges of the former productive activity, as well as the symbolic and identity-based connection of former salt workers with the territory.
