THE IMPACTS OF OBSTETRIC VIOLENCE ON WOMEN IN SOCIAL VULNERABILITIES: A LITERATURE REVIEW

Objective: Promote a review of the literature regarding obstetric violence practices and their impacts on the lives of socially vulnerable women Method: Literature review, of an exploratory and qualitative nature, elaborated through a online survey carried out in the databases: Google Scholar, Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), and others specific datas to the Health Area, such as the Virtual Health Library (VHL -BIREME-LILACS) and National Library of North American Medicine (MEDLINE PUBMED). There were selected articles published in the last five years. Results: The research analysed indicates that the obstetric violence takes place mainly through the lack of reception and guidance to the women in labor, the use of violent practices andinadequatte interventions carried out by health professionals. These acts affect, more significantly, women in vulnerable socioeconomic conditions.. Conclusion: In conclusion, it’s evident the necessity of ensuring that women receive comprehensive and humanized assistance before, during and postpartum.
