Abstract

Anaphylaxis is an acute systemic immunological reaction that arises through hypersensitivity mechanisms permeated or not by immunoglobulin E (IgE). It is the result of exposure to several factors of etiological origin related to the environment, medications, food, among others, which can result in idiopathic anaphylaxis processes, caused by medications and/or insect venoms. The results of this phenomenon through clinical manifestations can be immediate or delayed, but they constitute both mild and severe reactions, requiring immediate patient care procedures by a health team well qualified to recognize and practice care protocols. There is no certainty about the incidence and prevalence data on this serious condition, as it is a set of information that can result in very low data regarding the real numbers that occur in society. As an objective, this study seeks to analyze the care for patients who suffer anaphylaxis under urgent and emergency demands. The methodology used was a bibliographical review of the literature through investigations of scientific articles found in digital databases such as Lilacs, PubMed, Scielo and Google Scholar. The results show that anaphylaxis can be a serious condition requiring appropriate management to address occurrences, promote recovery and prevent fatalities. To this end, an effective early diagnosis is essential for proper treatment, with immediate intervention and correct procedures, the use of effective means, such as epinephrine, as well as supplements such as antihistamines and corticosteroids, reducing the chance of death and complete recovery. And for the professional to be sufficiently qualified to meet this demand, preparation and training are necessary, even during the academic learning phase, so that the future professional can perform his/her duties and assist in the care of patients who present health conditions with regard to this form of allergic reaction.
