This article presents the initial communication regarding the identification of two archaeological sites discovered in 2020 in the municipality of Ortigueira, Paraná, Brazil. Both sites were identified in the context of the Heritage Impact Assessment conducted for environmental licensing purposes of a real estate development. The excavations and surveys carried out confirmed the presence of archaeological sites, providing evidence of past human occupations and contributing to the understanding of settlement dynamics in the region. This discovery is significant as it represents the first archaeological records identified near the urban area of Ortigueira. Further studies are underway to deepen the archaeological and cultural contextualization of the recovered lithic and ceramic artifacts, providing insights into ancient regional occupations.
