Abstract

The physical conditioning of military police officers in general is an essential element for both operational success and the health and well-being of public safety professionals. From the moment they enter training academies and especially during their careers, physical fitness is crucial to face the complex demands of the profession, ensuring that police officers are ready to act effectively and safely in any situation. This literature review study demonstrates the scientific evidence supporting the evolution of the topic. The analysis is preponderant due to the demands of the military police profession after initial training, since the need to be well-conditioned to perform daily activities in public safety is paramount. Inadequate physical fitness at any point in a career can put the life of the professional in question and also that of third parties at risk.
