THE WORLD OF CRIMES: PSYCHOLOGICAL AND CULTURAL CONSIDERATIONS

Abstract

This book to study the "world of crime" and its specificities, as its growth, its organization, its rules, its language and its actors, emphasizing some causes of crime, given the context in contemporary psychological and cultural. The issue of crime is seen to have several risk factors that should not be analyzed in isolation as they depend on the historical moment and cultural society. Thus, crime is placed in complexity and has no simple answer, there is even a universal truth about what determines the subjects to commit crimes. To further the theme, we conducted a field survey, which was applied to the inmates of the Regional Jail in Santa Maria / RS, selecting only those offenders convicted of crimes of robbery and theft. Thus, this paper seeks to understand the meaning of the growing number of subjects included in the "world of crime," since they reveal that "crime does not pay"
