This article analyzed the epidemiological profile of traumatic brain injury (TBI) in Brazil between 2014 and 2023, using data from the SUS Hospital Information System (SIH/SUS). The methodology was descriptive and quantitative, based on the analysis of secondary data on incidence, geographic distribution, sociodemographic profile, mortality rates, and the economic impact of TBI hospitalizations. The results showed a high prevalence of cases in young men, with a higher concentration in the Southeast and Northeast regions. Mortality rates varied over the period, with peaks in specific years, possibly related to external factors such as traffic accidents and urban violence. The economic impact of hospitalizations was increasing, highlighting the pressure on the healthcare system. It is concluded that TBI is a significant challenge for public health, requiring the development of effective public policies for prevention and proper management of the condition.
