This article aims to describe the epidemiological profile of hospitalizations for heart failure in Tocantins from 2019 to 2022. This is an epidemiological, quantitative and retrospective study carried out based on data available in DATASUS, with data collection from 2019 to 2022, using the following variables: period (years); place of hospitalization; Deaths; mortality rate; sex and age group. A total of 3,974 hospitalizations were observed, with 2021 being the year with the lowest number of cases, so the number of deaths followed the same trend, with elderly people over 80 years of age being the most affected. There was a predominance of hospitalizations among males, while, in general, women recorded higher mortality rates: 12.29, while that of men was 10.94. Although the highest rate of hospital admission is for men, in general, the female mortality rate is higher than that of men.: The study identified that the majority of patients are male and aged 70-79 years. Therefore, such studies are necessary to better understand and implement policies that lead to a more favorable prognosis.
