HIGH-SPEED MONITORING PLATFORMS IN SUMMER OPERATION 2024/2025: APPLICATION ANALYSIS, ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

Abstract

DC Electric Scissors are instruments equipped with mobility capabilities, reaching heights of up to 12 meters, which enhances visibility and expands the field of vision for state military officers employed for crowd control and crime prevention. The platforms were leased by the State Secretariat for Public Security of the State of Paraná (SESP/PR) to begin the testing phase during Operation Summer 2024/2025 development. This initiative aims to supplement general ostensive policing, which is currently implemented through radio patrols, quad bikes, Utility Task Vehicles (UTV), and mobile units. This article analyzes these platforms' daily applications, advantages, and disadvantages. To support the analyses contained in this article, a questionnaire was developed and administered to twelve state military officers who serve on the DC Electric Scissors.
