This study aims to identify and describe the epidemiological profile, mental health, and post-traumatic growth (PTG) of oncology patients in a hospital in Cascavel, Paraná. A quantitative-qualitative and cross-sectional survey was used with questionnaires applied to 55 patients in July 2024. The results showed that 53% of patients were 61 years or older, with a prevalence of female breast cancer (13%), followed by skin and prostate cancer (9% each). It was observed that 58% of patients reported symptoms of anxiety or depression, and 62% used anxiolytic or antidepressant medications. Most patients underwent surgery (51%), chemotherapy (56%), and radiotherapy (25%), with 44% reporting sequelae. The findings highlight the importance of a multidisciplinary approach that includes robust psychological support, aiming to improve treatment adherence, emotional well-being, and quality of life of oncology patients. Furthermore, the cancer experience led to an increased appreciation of life and the search for new ideals of philosophy and spirituality among patients.
