This article aimed to analyze the application of microprocessors and embedded systems in medical devices, focusing on the improvement of monitoring and control of patients' health conditions. The research followed a qualitative and exploratory approach, using a case study conducted at a public health institution. Data collection was carried out through document analysis, interviews with healthcare professionals, and direct observation of the use of medical devices such as pacemakers and mechanical ventilators, which incorporate microprocessors for automatic control of vital signs. The results showed that these devices, along with integration with technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), provided more accurate and efficient monitoring, enabling fast and personalized interventions. The study concluded that embedded systems have a significant impact on improving medical care quality by increasing the precision in controlling critical conditions and allowing efficient remote monitoring, which contributes to patient safety and optimizes healthcare professionals' time.
