Heart failure is a syndrome that manifests through a set of signs and symptoms resulting from any structural and/or functional impairment of ventricular filling or blood ejection. It is considered a serious public health problem, with a high prevalence of deaths and hospitalizations in public networks. Therefore, understanding mortality rates over the years is crucial. In this context, the present study was conducted through data collection from DATASUS, specifically in the State of Paraná, covering the period from 2010 to 2022. The objective was to evaluate the total mortality rate over the years, by age and sex, as well as to assess the prevalence among the four health macro-regions of the state. The results recorded a total of 24,268 deaths, with an 8.19% increase between the initial and final periods of the study. The findings also indicated a higher prevalence among females, an increase in mortality with advancing age, and the highest number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the northern macro-region. Heart failure is a highly relevant condition today, highlighting the importance of prevention and early treatment to reduce the number of deaths over the years.
