BENEFITS OF A RESPIRATORY TRAINING REHABILITATION NURSING PROGRAM IN ADULTS WITH DYSPNEA IN A COMMUNITY CONTEXT - CASE STUDY

Introduction: Rehabilitation programs have gained prominence since they favor the self-management of the respiratory disease by the person, reduce respiratory symptoms, increase exercise tolerance, improve psychosocial symptoms and consequently improve quality of life. Objective: To demonstrate the benefits of a Nursing Rehabilitation program of respiratory training in adults with dyspnea. Method: Case study methodology, with application of the stages of the Nursing process in an individual with dyspnea, community target of Rehabilitation Nursing care in the context of a Health Center of the ARS Alentejo, taking into account the ethical principles inherent to the institution. Results: After the program, there were improvements in HR, SpO2 and Fr, decreased dyspnea and consequently increased quality of life of the individual under study. Conclusions: The rehabilitation programs developed by RE are beneficial and relevant in reducing dyspnea and consequently improving the quality of life of individuals, thus promoting health gains.
