This article sought to understand surgical interventions in superior vena cava syndrome (SVCS) caused by complications of lung cancer. To this end, an integrative review of the literature was carried out, based on a search for data in the databases Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences, National Library of Medicine, ScienceDirect, Portal de Periódicos da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Ensino Superior and Europe PubMed Central, selecting articles that were published in the last 10 years, written in English, Portuguese and Spanish and then excluding those that did not correspond to the study topic and were duplicates. Thus, the final sample was 16 articles. Most studies were reviews, published between 2018-2023, in the Pubmed database. Regarding the keywords, superior vena cava syndrome or superior vena cava syndrome, lung cancer and stent stand out. Regarding treatment, there are several modalities and the use of endovascular stents has been shown to be effective. Therefore, SVCV is a complex pathology and we want to contribute positively to studies on this topic.
