Inclusive education is a recurring theme and has been discussed in all educational environments. In this article the subject was approached with the aim of analyzing and disseminating the history of inclusive education. This is basic, qualitative, exploratory research as it aims to provide greater familiarity with the subject. It was carried out through a careful search for bibliographic review obtained through the digital platforms Google Scholar, Lilacs and Scielo in the period from 2008 to 2024, of books, articles and websites. It brings a collection of information about the laws, a summary of the development of the movement for people with disabilities and the advances made by them at school, in the community and society as a whole, as well as the milestones in the history of people with disabilities. Disseminates the latest nomenclature for people with disabilities. It presents the parameters of inclusive education, and its importance for these groups of people who have historically been discriminated against for being different. And it presents a brief contribution from neuropsychology and psychoanalysis that favors the understanding of inclusive education in the school environment.
