Abstract

With the advancement of technology and human evolution, there has been a need to prevent and delay aging, giving rise to diverse procedures, and since the lips are in the center of the face, they show youthfulness, and are one of the most frequently sought after. Filling with Hyaluronic Acid is one of the most sought after procedures today, however, like any procedure, there are risks of complications that, although rare and difficult to occur, can occur if the professional does not have the appropriate knowledge and performs the technique incorrectly. This study highlights the main complications that can occur and which forms of treatment can be performed in these cases. It is worth noting that, although the rates of complications are considered low, especially the most severe ones, it is prudent to pay attention to the signs, requiring rapid action by the professional. By performing anamnesis, knowing the anatomy, the techniques and recognizing the contraindications, complications can be avoided, providing safety to the patient.
